Krishnapur Sukhobithika Memorial Society

Introduction:

Krishnapur Sukhobithika Memorial Society (abbreviated as KSMS henceforth) is a Kolkata based non-profit, non-government organization working extensively in the areas of providing humanitarian aid and relief to the poor and needy, especially in rural areas of West Bengal, with special focus on the upliftment of rural women and children.

It is a group of dedicated and hardworking individuals with genuine social responsibility and commitment to the overall upliftment of the destitute and underprivileged, through active support in the areas of providing food, clothing, shelter, medication, education material, and various group awareness campaigns. 

Its activities are spread across the districts of Purulia, Birbhum and West Medinipur in West Bengal, and has plans to expand operations in other districts in the near future.

Date of Incorporation :

KSMS was registered on the 3rd of July 2020, under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961.It is also registered u/s 12A/AA/AB of the Income tax Act, 1961 under the authority of Niti Aayog as of the date of 3rd of December 2020.It is a non-profit charitable society whose objective is to provide humanitarian service to the poor and destitute sections of the society.

Founder Group:

KSMS was founded by a group of socially responsible and like-minded active professionals - Sri Apurba Banerjee, Sri Ashok Kr Gupta, Smt. Modhua Ghosh, Smt.Krishnapriya Banerjee, Dr. Subhas Banerjee. Smt. Anukriti Banerjee and the (Late) Sri Amalesh Mondal.Coming from diverse backgrounds, this core team established the first steps of KSMS in corporate social responsibility towards the underprivileged sections of the society. By
taking the initiative to provide humanitarian service first to the poorest of the poor, it has established its credentials as a distinguished startup NGO dedicated towards providing the much needed overall comprehensive support to the poor.

Vision & Mission:

Vision: “Live with Dignity”.

This is the vision of KSMS – to help the poorest of the poor, the destitute, the underprivileged people of especially rural Bengal through humanitarian aid, in the form of essential medicine supply, support to existing basic infrastructure, providing food and clothing, providing education materials, and other simple basic amenities (e.g. clean drinking water, basic toilets, sanitary pads for the women, etc.) so necessary to maintain a basic semblance of dignified living.

Mission: “To work diligently to provide humanitarian aid and ensure basic amenities to the poorest section of the rural population by direct interaction & involvement in their overall welfare.”

The mission statement of KSMS presumes an active workforce with a genuine sense of corporate social responsibility who are willing to personally participate in the welfare of the poor.In other words, over and above financial support, we are committed to a “hands-on” approach – visit the poor and destitute in rural areas, interact with them, ascertain their immediate necessities, and provide relief through direct distribution of essential material
to the extent possible, organize awareness campaigns, fund raising events, coordinate with the local government agencies – all of which with the sole aim of providing succor to the neediest.
